In 2025, These Are the Charities Working To Feed People In Need

More people are relying on the help of others to feed themselves and their families; these are the charities keeping bellies filled this year.

South Africa (07 January 2025) – People around the world are struggling with rising costs of living and South Africa is no exception. People are struggling to feed themselves and their families, and often turn to organisations for help. We have a list of organisations that work tirelessly to make sure everyone has a meal.

Feeding schemes and organisations come and go in South Africa as funding is found or dries out. Sadly, over the years, our charity list related to a single meal or huge food parcels has dwindled, and this year, it is the smallest yet – BUT there are still organisations filling the hunger gap, making sure people have food to eat.

Giving Back to the Seniors Who Have Given So Much, in 2025!

Giving Back to the Seniors Who Have Given So Much, in 2025!

This year, let’s all commit to making the lives of our seniors a whole lot better; that means more quality time, talking about life and learning about how they contributed to our world today. Here is how to help:

South Africa (22 January 2025) – Giving back to our seniors is one of the truest forms of love. These men and women are the reason we are alive and on this Earth today. They gave us our parents, paved the way for our families and hold all the knowledge we could ever dream of knowing. But our seniors need us!

The ageing population (globally) is living longer and longer, a part of life that many have not entirely planned for. Many of South Africa’s elderly find themselves struggling financially or feeling lonely. We can support these golden oldies by lending a helping hand, listening to tales of their wild youths or just making sure they have something to keep them busy.

Knitting Unites: 2025 Is About to Get Super Cosy Thanks to These Charities

Knitting Unites: 2025 Is About to Get Super Cosy Thanks to These Charities

Knitting and crocheting are great ways to give back; you get a peaceful hobby, and society stays warm and cosy through the winter. These organisations need your needles and hooks:

South Africa (24 January 2025) – As South Africans pick up new “granny hobbies” like crochet and knitting, they are finding that the hobby allows for giving back to society. Whether just making Granny Squares or challenging oneself to make an entire blanket, knitting baby booties, beanies and preemie octopuses, or the most adorable dog jerseys, there is a way to use wool to give back to others.

This charity list features organisations that try to make winter more bearable for the many who face it under-resourced, whether knitting beanies, blankets, booties and beanies, soft toys and scarves. These organisations specifically welcome knitted and crochet items or facilitate the purchase of these items in support of other causes.
