Kindness Like Confetti hosted a fundraiser dinner to say farewell to the founder of the organisation, Alyson Samson, who will be relocating overseas and to welcome Claire Duvel who will take over the reins. The dinner was hosted at Satori Family Restaurant.
Samson said, “Claire has been involved in charity work for many years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with her to Kindness Like Confetti. I trust that you will all continue to support our all projects as you have done over the past five years.”
Duvel will still be involved in the main projects but with some changes:
- The sanitary pad project will be run by Jenny Laas known as ‘The Pad Princess’ which focuses on distributing pads to schoolgirls and young women in need to help keep them in school.
- The Joseph Jersey Project will continue as is, under the leadership of Duvel and Lorraine Harvey.
- The organisation’s feeding schemes which take place in Linden on Monday nights weekly will continue as before.
- Project Uplift, the bra project, will continue as before in conjunction with Rebecca Kemp Pogir and The Hakuna Matata House. The ladies will continue to collect and hand over bras and underwear to Zabra AfreeBra Initiative for distribution.
