Beautifully Handmade Pencil Cases Land on the Desks of Children in Need

The Grade 4 to 7 learners of Yeoville Community School were surprised with a delivery of stationery packs donated by Kindness like Confetti (KLC), Mini Miracles and Ashraful Aid, community members and corporate donors.

Kindness Like Confetti (KLC) have launched a campaign to help bring the end of period poverty to 500 young ladies in the Gauteng area. Johannesburg, South Africa (06 May 2024) – Period poverty is rife in South Africa, where families have to choose between putting a meal on the table versus purchasing menstrual hygiene products.

South Africa (20 May 2020) – We have had hundreds of emails and messages ranging from people looking for help to people wanting to offer help. We have been directing them to the charities we know of but a conclusive list is what was needed.

A group of dedicated women from the Rotary Clubs of Northcliff and Vanderbijlpark, as well as Mini Miracles, have once again demonstrated the power of community and compassion. Known for their record-breaking knitting achievements, these women have donated a significant number of hand-knitted scarves to Kindness Like Confetti’s Joseph Jersey Project.

‘Kindness like Confetti’ run various projects, and this month they are collecting items to make up brave bags for cancer patients at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.

Kindness Like Confetti hosted a fundraiser dinner to say farewell to the founder of the organisation, Alyson Samson, who will be relocating overseas and to welcome Claire Duvel who will take over the reins. The dinner was hosted at Satori Family Restaurant.

Through its Joseph Jersey and Pad Princess projects, Kindness Like Confetti is not only tackling real concerns but also making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
