The BIG Makeover
The launch of the refurbishment of an old age home. All designers and creatives welcome. Bed linen, wall paint, lamps, paint techniques, curtains, wall art, rugs and soft refurb items in need.
Security for the Elderly
A brand new project to assist the eldery. KLC will be making up security pouches for those who are living in unsafe areas. Whistles, mini pepper spay, notebook, pen and a wind-up torch are needed for each pouch.
On the 9th May we will be recognising the awesome moms out there. The Joseph Jersey team will be handing out shawls, cell phone pouches and bed socks to the golden oldies at retirement villages in our area. The Confetti Girls will be adding cupcakes and spoils to the donation.
World Menstrual Hygiene Day
Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) is a global advocacy platform that brings together the voices and actions of non-profits, government agencies, individuals, the private sector and the media to promote good menstrual hygiene management (MHM) for all women and girls.
Donations of sanitary products welcome
We're celebrating the amazing men in our world. We'll be handing out neck cuffs, cell phone pouches and gloves to our golden oldie gents residing in retirement homes in our area. Asking for knitters, bakers and crocheters to get involved.
Nelson Mandela Day
18th July marks Mandela Day where you can give your 67 minutes to make a difference.
KLC and our Joseph Jersey team will be handing out knitted toys & treats to the children of the Nelson Mandela Hospital who are undergoing medical treatment. Shout out to all bakers and knitters.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October marks breast cancer awareness month. The Joseph Jersey project team will be knitting and distributing Knitted Knockers which are special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast.
World Prematurity Day
KLC will be handing out preemie baby hampers to moms who come from impoverished backgrounds, who often feel hopeless with the new challenge of a baby.
Hampers will include baby toiletries, knitted matinee jacket, booties and a hat or beanie, a soft knitted toy and a blanket.
Nov - Dec
End of year celebrations
Presents for children from disadvantaged backgrounds will be our last project for 2021. Toiletries, games and toys, sweets and soft drinks, stationery for the new school year are most welcome.
The Dignity Bag Project
We supply comfort packs to women and children who have suffrered from rape, abuse or trauma. Cash donations for toiletries welcome.
Bags are distributed through councellors working with the Victim Support Units.

Donate your new and gently used bras and panties to women who can't afford their own.
This project is a colaboration with The Hakuna Mata House and ZABRA ~ AfreeBra initiative where we do recycling of a different kind. We work with organisations who identify situations where women can benefit from receiving. Please donate bras you no longer need to help us to make a difference in women's lives.
The Pad Princess
We collect and distributes all types of sanitary products with the aim of keeping girls in school.
We distribute these sanitary products through other organisations working on the ground in the informal settlements, and disadvantaged areas. We also do our own school distribution and combine it with educational upliftment talks.
Please add a packet or 2 to your next shopping basket. Cash donations are welcome too.
Serving Our Underprivileged People
Please support our food drive initiatives, so many people are struggling to put food on the table. We support many local soup kitchens by cooking and serving a nutritious meal.
When fund allow, we make up food hampers.
Volunteer to cook and/or serve. Grocery and cash donations welcome.
